Our property managers spend time in all corners of Kitsap County and they are true local experts. So, we asked them about their favorite places to enjoy fall. If some of these great recommendations are new to you, we hope you check them out.
With a love for the outdoors, Property Manager Crystal Bartlett shared some great places to go hiking this time of year. "Our family enjoys fall in the PNW because all of the trees' leaves are so colorful and there is such an abundance. It really is a beautiful and breathtaking landscape of oranges, yellows and reds. We enjoy hiking the several miles of trails along the Kitsap Peninsula with our dog Autumn. Some of our favorite local places to go are Seabeck's Scenic Beach State Park or the Illahee Preserve right in Bremerton for a quick morning walk to get our day started. Walking along the Hood Canal beach or Point No Point is also a favorite. In the fall, the beach is not as crowded so we can enjoy some peace and quiet with a hot cup of coffee in between appointments. One of our favorite hot drink spots in the morning is Austin Chase Coffee in Silverdale. We appreciate the friendly service, and they are one of the only spots to get a decaf chai tea latte, which is my favorite! I know many people think Washington is just a bunch of gloom and rain, but my hope is people can see beyond that to the true natural beauty of the landscape we call home."
Warming up on a crisp, fall day with a tasty breakfast always sounds good to us. Property Manager Dawn Clay has a spot she loves. "My favorite hidden gem is Ozzie’s – for breakfast. If you are a fan of breakfast and amazing golden hashbrowns then the lounge at the Silverdale Bowling alley is quiet, quick and a nice atmosphere to start your Saturday morning."
Sometimes fall is simply about finding a cozy, tranquil place. Property Manager Bobbi Alger said, "My favorite cozy spot in Kitsap County is Tessio in Silverdale. I love the small, quiet atmosphere. They have a wonderful staff who are always friendly and remember their customers. It’s a great place to meet friends or family for a visit or even go alone to sit in a quiet space to catch up on work."
You can see a glimpse of Tessio in this video we created a few years ago to highlight Silverdale.
Property Manager Danielle Hildebrand loves enjoying autumn on Bainbridge Island. "Fall is my favorite time of year. I have a few great recommendations and I LOVE TROLLS!" For those who aren't aware, Bainbridge's resident troll is Pia the Peacekeeper, and she lives in Sakai Park. Danielle said, "This is really cool and a great place to check out the fall colors. Before you go hunting for Pia, make sure to treat yourself to the most incredible croissant you'll ever have from Pan D'Amore at Lynwood Center. Warm up after your walk with a delicious bowl of fresh Mushroom Pho from Ba Sa in Winslow!" Read our interview with Ba Sa to learn about their origin story.
Wherever your autumn adventures take you, we hope you are able to appreciate all that our area offers this time of year.
